Indirect LED lighting in Zoetermeer
Street lights on Dorpsstraat in Zoetermeer restored to their former state, but now with indirect LED lighting
The municipality of Zoetermeer has replaced the old classic DE NOOD light fittings in its central shopping street with another classic copper DE NOOD 'Leidse Kap' fitting, which is now the low-maintenance 'Elegance' version. Given the composition and materials used, this fitting has an extremely long life and is almost fully recyclable. In the first instance, it was decided to replace just the lighting units, which were very old and badly needed to be replaced. Indirect LED lighting was chosen as the lighting technology. This LED lighting complies with all conditions regarding durability, energy-efficiency, light output, (social) safety and budget.
The fittings have been installed now and the results are really magnificent. The intention is to apply this indirect LED lighting solution to the other fittings in the near future too. This will give the street more uniformity and attractive, energy-efficient lighting. To the municipality of Zoetermeer, choosing durable light fittings equipped with the latest LED lighting means that will be able enjoy beautiful, energy-efficient street lighting for decades more in the shopping district of its old town centre - lighting that is good to look at during the daytime too. |
