Koninginnebrug restored to its former glory
In 2008, DE NOOD staff were faced with the challenge of partially restoring and partially reconstructing the lighting on the Koninginnebrug in Rotterdam. This bridge, which connects the Noordeiland with the Zuidoever (the northern and southern parts of Rotterdam) dates from 1929, as does its associated lighting. The lighting had not worked for years.
The municipality of Rotterdam asked DE NOOD to restore the copper fittings. Missing parts were manually reproduced, based on old drawings. It made sure that the splendid lighting on the bridge was restored to its former state.
